During my time at university, I was successful in applying to the Dare to be Digital competition at Abertay university. Where my team and I worked to a tight 8 week deadline to create a working demo of our WP7 game ready for Protoplay – a weekend exhibit of our work open for the public to view and play the final products. Our game was called 'Full English Fusion'; designed to be a point and click adventure game where you could collect items and combine them to overcome obstacles. My official roles were as an artist and designer; in this position I designed the puzzles and scenes for our levels and contributed to making our level editor application, using both emulator and hardware (HTC Trophy).

Before our interview for Dare to be Digital, I story-boarded the mechanics from an example puzzle to get our game concept across in it's most basic form so that we could present them at our interview/presentation. For this project I needed to fully utilise my organisational and administrative skills, helping to streamline our work flow since we had such a huge quantity of assets to produce and test in short space of time. I worked closely with our programmers to build the aforementioned level editor, a Windows form application that allowed me to assemble our levels.

I worked as the liaison between the artists/designers, providing feedbacks and discussing issues that either party brought forward. It was a great experience to work in a fast-paced, competitive environment and taught me a great deal about how to manage and organise myself in synchronisation with a team of artists and developers. I feel that these skills are transferable and will allow me to communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues alike.
