I am currently working on a 2D game, called Shooshi, together with a small team using Unity3D. The game is a fast paced arcade game, where the aim of the game is to get the highest score possible. You must squash and slice sushi that appear on the screen before they escape. to build up your adrenaline/boss bar which will access a bonus round where you can win extra points. Your bar will decrease as you miss the sushi and an empty bar means game over.

My role within our team is one of assetisation, UI design and organisation. Since we all work remotely, it has been important for us to keep in close contact, and thus I

also work as a liaison between the artists, programmers and sound artist. I handle theconstruction of the application within Unity, test newly added assets, as well as the existing code and asset base, then provide feedback to the artists and programmers.

We wanted the UI to match the wacky game idea so I tried some more original button

placement ideas and peculiar button shapes. Some of the best feedback we had from

testing our menus was from people with large hands complaining that the buttons/hit

boxes were too small for their fingers. I feel that testing in the early development stages has been invaluable and we have been able to accommodate for this with our most recent menu designs.
