Education

In addition to playing a variety of games – ranging from first person shooters to card games – I also enjoy making games in my spare time. Currently I am collaborating with a small group of people to build a small phone game called Shooshi. My main role in our current project is assetisation and UX design, though I hope to be able to put my 3D skills to use in future projects. I also help to organise and communicate with the team to make sure everyone keeps up to date and meeting deadlines. I am a diligent team member, though my extra curricular activities have given me confident administrative qualities.

Outside of computer-related hobbies my interests include cooking, camping and papercraft. I am also an avid reader of fantasy novels.

Extra

I won a placement at Dare 2 Be Digital [June 2011 – August 2011 ] to develop a game through a 3 stage process of creating a design proposal, interviewing and presenting in front of a board of games' industry professionals. I took on the role of team leader and designer. We created a prototype game in realistic game development conditions with industry support and mentoring, which was then demonstrated to the public and judged by industry professionals from Crytek and Rockstar North. During my time there I developed the following skills:

  • Improved organisation

  • Working efficiently to a deadline

  • Good communication skills

  • QA testing

  • Experience in leading a team

  • Reliable team member

My student game 'Tamoanchan' was nominated for Best Student Game at the TIGA awards.

I like to work in small teams in my spare time to design/develop prototypes and tools for games. I have been working with a colleague on a competitive particle system, Hydra Particles (Unity 3D), to be released on the Unity asset store.
